IPA CIS PC on Practices of State-Building and Local Government held a regular meeting in the Tavricheskiy Palace

IPA CIS PC on Practices of State-Building and Local Government held a regular meeting as part of the autumn session of the IPA CIS. The members of the Commission elected a new chair – Leonid Tsuprik, Chair of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on State-Building, Local Governance and House Rules.

The participants of the meeting discussed draft model laws on Automobile Transport, Fundamentals of Civic Oversight, Strategic Planning and Anti-Crisis Regulation, CIS Model Code on Public and Municipal Service, Comparative Legal Analysis of Housing Law in the CIS Countries and Monitoring of Law-Enforcement Practices, as well as some documents on sustainable development. They also considered the draft Guidelines on Legal Regulation and Organization of Inter-Municipal Cooperation and heard information on the CIS Convention on Cross-Regional Cooperation.

The Commission also adopted a work plan for 2017 and discussed the progress of drafting the glossary of terms used in law-making in the field of state-building and local governance. Also, the Commission decided to accord the observer status to the Russian National Congress of Municipal Districts.
