IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment held its retreat session in Yerevan

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia provided a venue for the retreat session of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment. The meeting brought together the representatives of the parliaments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation, Deputies of Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council: Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ayk Chilingaryan, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurbek Satvaldiev (delegated authority), as well as invited experts from the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Eduard Sharmazanov delivered a welcome address.

The session approved the draft Model Law on Identification, Registration and Traceability of Farm Animals, Identification and Traceability of Animal Derived Materials.

The participants discussed the draft Model Laws on Assessment of Environmental Damage, on Ecotourism and the concepts of the Recommendations on the Organization of National Centers of Environmental Safety and Recommendations on Environmental Policy-Making.

In addition, the members were informed on the results of the activity of the Commission in 2017 and on the development of the legislation of the Republic of Armenia in the field of agriculture, natural resources and the environment and the implementation of the model laws adopted by the IPA CIS on the initiative of the Commission.
