IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security Issues Meets in Tavricheskiy Palace

The meeting brought together MPs from the Republic of Armenia, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, document developers and experts.

The members of the permanent commission discussed the issues related to the draft Recommendatory Typologies of New Crimes Committed with Use of Information Technologies, the Amendments to the Model Law on Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and its Precursors, the Recommendations on Improving and Harmonization of the CIS National Legislation on Analysis (Expertise) of Information Materials in Order to Identify Elements of Offences of Extremist and Terrorist Nature, etc.

Members of the permanent commission decided to submit the draft documents to the IPA CIS member parliaments for expert assessment.

Moreover, the participants received the information on the use of model laws in the field of defense and security in legislative activity of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as on the implementation of the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2016-2020.
