IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Legal Issues Meeting Held in Tavricheskiy Palace

The event brought together the representatives of the parliaments of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Chairman of the Committee of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan on Legislation and Human Rights Emomali Nasriddinzoda was unanimously re-elected the Chairman of the Permanent Commission.

The participants of the meeting considered and adopted in general the model laws drafted by the commission, including on Law of Obligations, on Advertisement, and on Regulatory Legal Acts (Revised). Members of the permanent commission decided to appeal to the IPA CIS Council to include these model laws into the agenda of the IPA CIS plenary session for the discussion.

The members also considered the amendments and proposals for the Model Law on Reparation of Injury for Victims, and decided to appeal to the IPA CIS Council to change the wording into “on Reparation of Injury for Crime Victims” in the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2016-2020.

The participants also discussed the address of Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kogut and decided to develop the Provisions on Plenipotentiary Representative of Parliament to the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

The meeting concluded with the discussion of the implementation of the Long-Term Plan of Model Law-Making of the CIS for 2016-2020 and the proposals for similar plan for the upcoming period.
