24th birthday of the Commonwealth of Independent States

The renowned Belavezha Accords were signed 24 years ago. This document laid a foundation for the establishment of the CIS.

The States agreed to set up a body unifying most of the post-Soviet republics. The agreement to establish the CIS was signed on 8 December 1991.

Today, the CIS has 11 Member Nations.
