IPA CIS 23rd anniversary

This was followed by the signing in May 1995 of the Convention on the IPA CIS. This is the main constituent document of the Assembly proclaiming it an international entity.

Central to the mandate of the Assembly is the drafting of model laws, alactiob observation and conferences. IPA CIS is an effective platform for parliamentary dialogue, exchanges and common action across the entire spectrum of relevant issues. Contacts with international organizations opens access to international practices and creates better visibility of the Commonwealth in the world.

Since 2012, the IPA CIS established as a matter of institutional practice, regular reports to the senior constitutional authority, the Council of the CIS Heads of State. Speaker of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko reports at the sessions of the Council on a regular basis.
