IPA CIS convened its 39th regular Plenary Session in St Petersburg under the chairmanship of the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko. At the inaugural speech she took stock of the Assembly’s activities in 2013.
In particular, she dwelt on the agenda of the international parliamentary conference Role of Parliamentary Organizations in Building Europe without Divisions. She also added that during the Conference an agreement was reached with the President of the PA CE Jean-Claude Mignion to meet in this format on a regular basis.
Acting together with international parliamentary organizations gives us a better exposure to international practices for the benefit of the Commonwealth, said the Speaker.
