Members of the IPA CIS Council Ogtay Asadov and Vyacheslav Volodin met in Moscow

Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Ogtay Asadov met with Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin in Moscow.

The meeting was held during the visit of the Azerbaijan delegation dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Russian Federation. The parties noted that it would create a new momentum in the bilateral relations.

Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the Russian-Azerbaijan dialogue was based on the principle of good-neighborly relations and mutual respect. “Our partnership is mutually beneficial for our states,” said the Speaker of the State Duma and mentioned the importance of the coordination of joint efforts at international platforms.

After the meeting the members of the IPA CIS Council Ogtay Asadov and Vyacheslav Volodin participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Russian-Azerbaijan diplomatic relations.

Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Ogtay Asadov expressed his gratitude to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, in particular the Committee on Commonwealth Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Outreach to Compatriotic Communities Abroad, Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic in the Russian Federation for the organization of the exhibition. “It is the first exhibition of such a format to be organized at the State Duma and it is dedicated to Azerbaijan. I am confident that these meetings and exhibitions will help promote future development of the Russian-Azerbaijan relations,” said Ogtay Asadov.
