Statement of the IPA CIS Council Chairperson

Statement of the IPA CIS Council Chairperson

The Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States is deeply concerned by the violations of ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh and the reported casualties.

In 1994, IPA CIS facilitated the signing of the Bishkek Protocol, a legal framework for the cessation of hostilities in the region. The IPA CIS committed to peaceful resolution of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh and continuous negotiation process.

The IPA CIS welcomes intermediary efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group and urges the involved parties to restrain from further hostilities and do their utmost to observe the ceasefire and to resolve the current situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.

We stand for the active search of a peaceful conflict resolution in Nagorno-Karabakh and a constructive dialogue between the parties in conflict.
