Valentina Matvienko congratulates first-year students of St. Petersburg State University

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko became the honorable guest at the welcome ceremony for new students of St. Petersburg State University (SPbGU).

Valentina Matvienko, as member of the Board of Trustees of SPbGU, congratulated the students on their first day at the university. "Successful future depends on the dynamic and creative generation you represent", said IPA CIS Chairperson. She also mentioned that researchers have coined a new term for today's age – "the age of knowledge economy".

In the coming two days IPA CIS Council representatives will take part in the events dedicated to the beginning of the new school year.

The IPA CIS has been extensively cooperating with universities of the Northern Capital. It has cooperation agreements with several universities including SPbGU.
