Valentina Matvienko: “Development of model laws and monitoring of elections are important areas of the IPA CIS activity”

On 25 February, Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held a meeting in Moscow with Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan. In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of inter-parliamentary and inter-regional relations, as well as cooperation within the framework of the international organizations.

Valentina Matvienko, in particular, noted the importance of the coordination of the Russian and Armenian efforts in the context of participation in the activities of international parliamentary organizations, such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, etc. Valentina Matvienko drew particular attention to the cooperation within the IPA CIS, noting the active stance of Armenian legislators on the Assembly platform.
