Valentina Matvienko unanimously re-elected as Chair of the IPA CIS Council

One of the issues of the agenda was the appointment of the Chair of the Council. The Speakers of member-parliaments unanimously endorsed the nomination of the Speaker of the Federatiom Council Valentina Matvienko. All of them noted her high professional skills and leadership.

In her acceptance speech, Valentina Matvienko committed herself to dedicated service as the leader of the Council.

Sessions of the IPA CIS Council are convened annually one day ahead of the IPA CIS plenary sessions.
