Vladimir Putin met with members of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation in the Tavricheskiy Palace

Within the working visit to St. Petersburg, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin met with members of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The event traditionally took place in the Tavricheskiy Palace to mark the Day of Russian Parliamentarianism, which is celebrated on 27 April.

Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed issues of improving the legislation on combating corruption, legislative support of state policy in the field of trade regulation and import substitution, optimization of parliamentary control mechanisms at the federal and regional levels and the main directions of improvement of Russian legislation in the field of state regional policy.
