Commonwealth Experts Discussed Issues of Information Security in Context of Digital Economy Development

On 29 June 2021, the CIS International Expert Forum on Information Security, co-organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee, took place in Tashkent.

Current issues of international information security, joint search for solutions in the context of the dynamic development of the digital agenda in the CIS space became the key topics of the Forum.

Executive Secretary of the IPA CIS Board of Experts and the Regional Commonwealth in the Field of Communications, Professor Alexander Suryghin represented the IPA CIS Council Secretariat at the event.

During the event, the Forum participants discussed issues of ensuring information security in the context of the development of the digital economy, combating crimes related to the use of information and communication technologies, technical protection of information infrastructure facilities and investigating cybercrimes, as well as protecting human rights and freedoms in the information environment.

As a result of the discussions, the Forum participants adopted the Final Document, which formulated recommendations for the governments of the CIS Member Nations on decisions in the field of information security.
