Delegation of IPA CIS Council Secretariat Met With Leadership of Azerbaijan CEC

The delegation of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat, headed by Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, met with Chair of the Central Election Commission of the Azerbaijan Republic Mazahir Panakhov and the CEC members.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of improving the mechanisms for implementing democratic electoral standards, holding democratic elections and the principles of international observation of elections across the Commonwealth.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy invited the Chair and members of the Central Election Commission of the Azerbaijan Republic to take part in the international conference dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of the Convention on Standards of Democratic Election, Electoral Rights and Freedoms in the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States to be held on 6-7 October 2022 in St. Petersburg.

Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – Plenipotentiary Representative of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Aidyn Jafarov thanked the CEC leadership for their active participation in the events held by the IPA CIS, the IPA CIS IIMDD and the Baku office of the IPA CIS IIMDD.

Deputy Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat – Director of the IPA CIS IIMDD Ivan Mushket invited the Azerbaijan CEC to take part in the preparation of the textbook “Electoral Law and Processes in the Azerbaijan Republic”.
