Leadership of IPA CIS Council Secretariat Met with Speaker of St. Petersburg Parliament

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy and his deputies, plenipotentiary representatives of the IPA CIS parliaments – Hayk Chilingaryan (Armenia), Viktor Kogut (Belarus), Igor Musalimov (Kazakhstan), Nurbek Satvaldiev (Kyrgyzstan) and Irina Sokolova (Russia) met with Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Alexander Belskiy at the Mariinskiy Palace. The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The parties discussed issues of parliamentary cooperation and noted mutual interest in the development of dynamic dialogue and multifaceted interaction.

The IPA CIS Council Secretary General spoke about the events planned by the Assembly for 2022, which will be the anniversary year for the organization, and invited St. Petersburg parliamentarians to participate in conferences, congresses and forums to be held in the Tavricheskiy Palace.

Alexander Belskiy noted that the Legislative Assembly was steadily developing cooperation with the CIS parliaments, both at the international and regional levels. The corresponding agreements were concluded with the representative authorities of Minsk, Almaty and Bishkek.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Head of the Representative office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in St. Petersburg Vladimir Zapevalov, PA CSTO Executive Secretary Sergey Pospelov, Chairman of the Minsk City Council Andrey Bugrov, Secretary of the Almaty City Maslihat Stanislav Kankurov and Chairman of the Bishkek City Kenesh Kuvanychbek Kongantiev.
