Dmitriy Kobitskiy: IPA CIS Activities Are Inextricably Linked with St. Petersburg

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy addressed the international conference “Role of St. Petersburg in the Development of Russia’s Diplomatic Relations with the CIS Countries”.

Dmitriy Kobitskiy noted that the IPA CIS was the only international organization whose headquarters are located in St. Petersburg. According to the Secretary General, the IPA CIS headquarters had become a platform for major congress events, in which representatives of legislative and executive authorities of the CIS, business and academia exchange best practices, discuss topical issues of international cooperation. He also presented in detail the main fields of the Assembly’s work and spoke about common points of the CIS MPs today.

In addition, the Secretary General spoke about the “Children of the Commonwealth” Forum, which took place for the first time in St. Petersburg in 2021 with the support of the St. Petersburg City Administration. Another significant initiative was the first international forum “Commonwealth of Fashion” held in the Tavricheskiy Palace on 19 October 2022. Dmitriy Kobitskiy also noted International Tourism Forum Travel Hub “Commonwealth”, which brought together representatives of tourism industry, government agencies, non-profit organizations and business.

At the end of his speech, the Secretary General expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Committee for External Relations of St. Petersburg for cooperation, as well as strong and continued support of the IPA CIS activities in various fields.
