IPA CIS Documents Was Reflected in UN Publication Devoted to Protecting Victims of Terrorism

Head of the Expert and Analytical Department of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Denis Zhuk held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General, Head of the UNOCT Vladimir Voronkov in the Headquarters of the United Nations in New York.

During the meeting organized on behalf of Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy, the parties discussed the current state of the bilateral cooperation, participation in joint events, and law-making activity.

Vladimir Voronkov informed Denis Zhuk about the publication of “Model Legislative Provisions to Support the Needs and Protect the Rights of Victims of Terrorism”. The document contains theses outlined in the final resolutions of the conferences on combating international terrorism held in the IPA CIS headquarters in 2019-2021. It also uses some provisions of the IPA CIS model laws on combating extremism.

Vladimir Voronkov commended the ongoing cooperation between the IPA CIS and UNOCT, thanked Dmitriy Kobitskiy for his active participation in the work of the coordination meeting of parliamentary assemblies on combating terrorism and the significant contribution that the IPA CIS makes to the cause of combating international terrorism at the legislative level.
