Alexey Sergeev: "Today we are turning a new page in our annals"

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Alexey Sergeev speaking at the inaugural session of the first CIS–wide Youth Parliamentary Forum noted the significance of the event.
Alexey Sergeev went on to say that Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council and Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko was looking forward to this Forum taking place as she did with the YIPA CIS two years ago.
Alexey Sergeev said: "Today, social activism of the youth is especially relevant, its aspiration to live in peace and concert as good neighbors. I see in front of me the young generation full of talent, brimming with energy and rich in ambition to put their efforts together. Here you have an opportunity to discuss the future of our nations, on social, economic and humanitarian projects, learn more about St Petersburg, strike new friendships and contacts".
