Delegation of IPA CIS Secretariat paid tribute to victims of Leningrad Siege

8 September is the Day of Remembrance of the victims of the Leningrad Siege. On this day St. Petersburg pays tribute to thousands of people who died of starvation, bombings and shooting, and to the courageous defenders of Leningrad.

In solidarity with the city, the delegation of the IPA CIS Secretariat led by Secretary General Alexey Sergeev visited the Piskarevskoye Memorial Cemetery. They laid wreaths to the memorials on behalf of Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council Valentina Matvienko.

Earlier that day, Valentina Matvienko issued a short public message commemorating the labors of the Leningrad heroes.
