IPA CIS representatives attended XXV Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference

Deputy Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council – representative of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Petr Ryabukhin has attended the anniversary XXV Baltic Sea Parliamentary Conference (BSPC).

Riga has convened representatives of parliaments, international organizations. The Conference started its work in the Academic Center of the Natural Sciences of the Latvian University. On behalf of Valentina Matvienko, the Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council – the Speaker of the Federal Assembly of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Petr Ryabukhin delivered the welcome address to the leaders and guests of the BSPC. In his speech he referred to one of the Baltic Sea Conferences that had taken place in the Tavricheskiy Palace, the IPA CIS Headquarters.

Petr Ryabukhin also emphasized, that our parliamentarians were focused on similar subjects, and the most important among them is the preservation of the environment. He also added that our Assemblies were a good venue for a political dialogue aimed at the preservation of vulnerable regions, including the Baltic Sea Region.

Petr Ryabukhin congratulaed Carola Veit on her election to the position of the BSPC President and invited her to take part in the IPA CIS Autumn Session that will take place on 24 – 25 November 2016 in St. Petersburg.
