Meeting of the CIS Advisory Board on Consumers' Rights Protection in the Tavricheskiy Palace

Head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova opened the meeting of the Advisory Council. IPA CIS Secretary General Alexey Sergev and his deputies – plenipotentiary representative of the National Assembly of Armenia Aik Chilingaryan and plenipotentiary representative of Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Ibod Rakhimov attended the meeting. The participants took note of the message by the Head of CIS Execom Sergey Lebedev.

The participants discussed the recent progress in preventing fraudulent activities of financial organizations. The previous efforts of the Advisory Board had prompted the CIS countries to develop relevant strategies. The new challenge ahead is to protect consumers in the Internet space which accommodates the majority of transactions.

Alexey Sergeev welcomed the participants in the IPA CIS headquarters – the Tavrichesky Palace. He congratulated the Board on its first 5-year anniversary. Speaking about the core activities and the operative statistics if the IPA CIS, he mentioned that the IPA CIS had, inter alia, adopted the model law Framework Regulation of Consumer Protection in Member Nations of the CIS.
