Security issues and countering new challenges and threats discussed an international symposium

The international symposium “Current issues of investigation and prevention of ethnic crime in Russia” held on 16 December 2016 in St. Petersburg Academy of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation brought together representatives of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee, investigative departments of the North-West Federal District, Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, St. Petersburg City Court judges, representatives of St. Petersburg Administration, the Commissioner for Human Rights in St. Petersburg, as well as scientists and researchers of leading universities of the Northern capital.

Alexander Borisov, Advisor of the Model Law-Making Support Unit, the IPA CIS Secretariat Expert and Analytical Directorate, Secretary of the IPA CIS Permanent Commission on Defense and Security, welcomed the participants of the conference on behalf of the IPA CIS Secretariat. He particularly noted the relevance of the topic and expressed confidence that the event would draw the attention of specialists from various fields to addressing the current issues.
