Working plans of the IPA CIS were presented to the representatives of diplomatic missions of St. Petersburg

The meeting of the leadership of the IPA CIS Secretariat representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in St. Petersburg.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council— Head of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat Alexey Sergeev noted the importance of the meeting with representatives of diplomatic missions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg.

“Attention of the esteemed colleagues to our activities and their participation in our events confirm the credibility of the IPA CIS and growing efficiency of its work. We work hard to strengthen and develop contacts with 87 partner organizations. In 2016, we interacted with almost all organizations in our partner list, including those with which we cooperate under formal agreements. In September we signed a new Agreement on Cooperation with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and, the MoU with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean followed in November. We continue to believe that the parliamentary contacts of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly are an important factor in maintaining peace and stability, and development of humanitarian cooperation”, said Alexey Sergeev.

He informed the guests about the upcoming IPA CIS anniversary events on 27-28 March, the VIII Nevsky International Ecological Congress and the 137th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly – the key event of the year to be held in the Tavrichesky Palace in October 2017.
