Bilateral Meetings of Heads of Parliamentary Delegations Held in Framework of IPA CIS Autumn Session

On 27-28 October, the IPA CIS autumn session took place at the Congress Center of the International Tourist Center the Great Silk Road, during which the bilateral meetings of the heads of parliamentary delegations of the CIS Member Nations were held.
Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko held meetings with Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova, Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev.
The participants of the Russian-Uzbek meeting agreed to develop the Roadmap for interaction between the two countries that would correspond to the level of tasks arising from the comprehensive strategic partnership.
Valentina Matvienko presented Vice-Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoev with the honorary badge of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation “For Merits in Developing Parliamentarism”.
On the margins of the IPA CIS autumn session, Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva held meetings with Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Azerbaijan Republic Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova, Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda and with Speaker of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gulshat Mammedova.
In addition, on the same days, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Mazhilis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov held meetings with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev and Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda.
Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev met with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev and Speaker of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda.
The heads of parliaments discussed the development of bilateral relations between the countries, the expansion of interregional and cross-border cooperation and several other issues of mutual concern, as well as noted the important role of parliamentary dialogue in the CIS.
