Armenian MPs Voted for Holidays for National Minorities

The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia approved the amendments to the country’s Labor Code, according to which the representatives of national minorities will be granted unpaid leave to celebrate the national, religious and commemorative holidays. Such leave may last no longer than four days a year.

The National Assembly also considered the amendments and additions to the Laws on Road Transport and on Employment proposed by the MPs and the government.

According to the amendments to the Law on Employment, graduates of orphanages, retired military personnel and family members of deceased military personnel are included in the list of socially vulnerable groups in the labor market. These groups will be prioritized in the employment programs.

The MPs also considered in the first reading the draft Law on Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Armenia on Road Transport. The amendments provide for compulsory insurance of passengers during international transportation.
