Azerbaijani MPs Considered Laws Improving Quality of Justice

On 5 June, the Milli Mejlis of the Azerbaijan Republic has adopted in the first reading the amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure. The amendments are designed to improve the accessibility and transparency of justice and imply incorporation of the information system of electronic court, use of the advantages of modern information and communication technologies, ensuring criminal process via video-conferencing in special cases, continuous audio recording of all court proceedings.
A number of amendments focus on cassation proceedings in criminal trial and recognition of orders issued by foreign courts.
