Commonwealth Celebrates International Children's Day

On the first day of summer, many countries celebrate International Children’s Day. The decision to celebrate it was made in 1925 at the World Conference on Child Welfare in Geneva.

Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Dmitriy Kobitskiy sent a message of greetings, in which he told that the 8th International Cultural and Educational Forum “Children of the Commonwealth” will be held on 21-30 June in Uzbekistan. The motto of this Forum is “Children of the Commonwealth: the Unbreakable Bond of Time and Generations”.

The participants will enjoy the eventful program, including excursions, exhibitions, master classes, sports competitions, intellectual games, educational trainings, musical championship, poetry evenings, circus show, film screenings, discos and many other events.

Speakers of the CIS parliaments also sent their greetings. Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova, Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev and Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin congratulated on the International Children’s Day.
