Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament to be Held in Person

On 3 August 2021, Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Konstantin Kosachev held negotiations with Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Martin Chungong. The parties discussed the preparation for the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, which will be held in September 2021 in Vienna. They also spoke about the conference program, agenda and organizational aspects of the participation of the Russian delegation. The Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments will be held exclusively in person.

According to Konstantin Kosachev, ensuring a high level of Russian participation in the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments is extremely important to convey to the world parliamentary leaders Russia’s position on key international issues.
