Kazakh Senators Adopted Intellectual Property Law

Today, the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan met under the chairmanship of Speaker of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev to consider and adopt the Law on Amendments and Additions to Some Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Improving Legislation in the Field of Intellectual Property and Providing State-Guaranteed Legal Assistance.

As Maulen Ashimbayev has pointed out, the document includes provisions for further strengthening intellectual property rights.

According to the chamber’s press service, the adopted Law also aims to strengthen the institution of patent attorneys who represent the interests of applicants and copyright holders in the authorized body, expert organizations and courts. Legal consultants will also be included in the system of providing state-guaranteed legal aid. As a result, representatives of vulnerable groups of the population will be able to receive free legal assistance.
