Kazakhstani MPs Outlined Goals of Legislative Work

The plenary session of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired by its Speaker Nurlan Nigmatulin took place on 20 January 2021. During the session, the MPs outlined the priorities of the upcoming legislative work and approved new draft laws.

At the beginning of the session, Nurlan Nigmatulin recalled some important drafts that the MPs would have to work on, including the Social Code, the draft Tax Code, the draft Law on Industrial Policy and the draft Law on Public Control.

According to the press service of the chamber, Nurlan Nigmatulin drew special attention to the protection of human rights. In this regard, the MPs would have to work on a separate draft Law on the Ombudsman.

The Speaker of the Mazhilis noted that all legislative work of the chamber would take place in constructive interaction with representatives of public authorities, expert community, civil society and the media.
