Kazakhstani Senators Adopted Laws on State Border Protection, Migration and Shipping

On 5 November 2020, a meeting of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired by Speaker of the chamber Maulen Ashimbayev adopted the draft Law on Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the Protection of the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan and National Security.

According to Maulen Ashimbayev, the state border is a guarantee of national security and statehood. The law provides for the optimization of the management activities of national security agencies, as well as at the improvement of the system of protection and defense of the state border.

The MPs also adopted the Law on Ratification of the Agreement on Shipping. The Speaker of the Senate stressed that this document would strengthen ties between the EAEU Member States, develop transport infrastructure and increase trade.

According to the press service of the chamber, the senators also adopted the Law on Ratification of the Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on Cooperation in the Field of Migration.
