Kyrgyz Republic Begins Wide Public Discussion of Draft Law on Information Manipulation

Starting on 14 May, the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic brought up for public discussion the draft Law on Information Manipulation, which aims to protect the citizens from fake and inaccurate information circulating in the Internet.

It is expected that the law would fill the gaps and articulate the distribution of information in the Internet, as well as define the restrictions of access to websites and pages in case of violation of the Kyrgyz legislation.

According to the drafters, the law takes into account the best practices in the field of information, including the legal acts adopted in Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
