Leadership of Republic of Moldova Laid Flowers to Eternal Flame at Eternity Memorial Complex

Today, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova Zinaida Greceanii, Head of the State Igor Dodon, Prime Minister Ion Chicu and the representatives of the diplomatic corps laid flowers to the eternal flame at the Eternity Memorial Complex in Chisinau on the occasion of the 76^th anniversary of the liberation of Moldova from the Nazis.

On 24 August 1944, the Soviet troops successfully undertook Jassy–Kishinev Offensive and liberated the territory of the Moldovan SSR after three years of occupation.

“We will always remember the self-sacrifice of our heroes, who paid with their own lives for the liberation of our country. May the heroes forever be remembered!” Igor Dodon said.

Zinaida Greceanii noted in her congratulation address dedicated to the 76^th anniversary of the liberation of Moldova from Nazism that social security and support for the veterans was the state priority. She also recalled the need to maintain the historical memory and inadmissibility of attempts to rewrite history.
