Moldovan MPs Introduced Concept of Bullying into Code of Education

On 17 February 2022, the plenary session of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted amendments to the Code of Education regarding the regulation of students’ bullying.

The amendments introduce the concept of “bullying”, which means a deliberate and repeated form of aggression through the imbalance of power in relations between children, degrading human dignity. The phenomenon will be recognized as a form of psychological violence.

After the amendments come into force, the relevant authorities will develop methodological norms for the law application and offer practices to prevent and combat the negative phenomenon.
