Muslims Celebrate Uraza Bayram

Uraza Bayram (Eid al-Fitr or Festival of Breaking the Fast) is one of the main Muslim holidays.

It is celebrated on the first day of the month of Shawwal (10th month of the Muslim calendar) and marks the end of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan (9th month of the Muslim calendar).

On this day the Muslims do the solemn prayer, go to mosques, visit each other, extended family, neighbors and friends.

This year, due to the spread of coronavirus infection, the majority of Muslims across the Commonwealth will refrain from mass prayers and big festivities and will celebrate Uraza Bayram within their families.
