Natalya Kochanova: Efforts of CIS Countries Should Be Aimed at Achieving a Common Goal - Regional Consolidation and Progress

On 4 October 2021, the Sixth Session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus started its work. Opening the plenary session, Speaker of the chamber Natalya Kochanova focused on the main tasks of parliamentarians in the international arena.

Among the key events, Natalya Kochanova referred to the participation of the members of the Council of the Republic as part of the CIS Observer Mission in international observation of the elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. In addition, she noted the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation. Natalya Kochanova recalled that in the year of the 30th anniversary of the CIS Belarus took over the chairmanship of the organization. In her opinion, the efforts of the CIS countries should be aimed at achieving a common goal – regional consolidation and progress, improving the well-being of citizens of the Commonwealth.
