Today, the MPs of the Republic of Moldova adopted in the second reading the amendments to more than 30 articles of the Labour Code. The adopted provisions guarantee preserving employment and average salary for citizens during periodic medical examinations and regulate such aspects as ensuring flexible work schedules, overtime pay and paid leave.

The amendments to the budget of the Republic of Moldova provide for the one-time payment to the retired persons, doubling of the wages for medical workers, police officers, some public servants, as well as providing support for agricultural sector, small and medium size businesses.

The MPs also voted for the amendments to the legal acts regulating treatment of foreign nationals in order to promote more active participation of the foreigners in the integration processes and use their labour and social potential. The amendments are expected to prevent risks of social isolation of immigrants and strengthen social peace.

The MPs also approved a law aimed at the protection of the victims of domestic violence, which regulates the procedure for notification of competent authorities in case of domestic violence that threaten life and health of a victim.
