Russian MPs Adopted Draft Laws Aimed at Tourism Development and Export Growth

On 8 July 2020, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation adopted three draft laws aimed at supporting and developing various sectors of the Russian economy.

The amendments to the Tax Code were adopted in the second reading and provide for the introduction of a tax-free electronic check system in Russia from 1 January 2021. Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the introduction of modern information technologies would raise the tax-free system in Russia to a new level and attract foreign tourists.

Furthermore, the MPs adopted in the first reading a draft law aimed at supporting domestic fertilizer production. This legislative initiative should contribute to the increased export of domestic products.

The draft law aimed at the development of the winemaking industry was also adopted in the first reading. This draft law allows holding wine fairs in Russia with free tasting. It should be noted that 100% of trading places should be reserved for the retail sale of wine production from the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
