President of Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian Submitted His Resignation to National Assembly

Today, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan informed the MPs about the President’s resignation at the meeting of the chamber.
According to the Constitution of the country, early presidential elections can be held no earlier than 25 and no later than 35 days after the opening of a vacancy for the post of President. The candidate who receives at least three-quarters of the votes of the total number of members of the National Assembly is elected President.
