Tajikistani MPs Ratified Agreement with Turkmenistan on Cooperation in Field of Railway Transport

The Council of the Majlisi namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli, chaired by Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda, approved the Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on Cooperation in the Field of Railway Transportation.

The ratification of the Agreement will increase the level of international transport services, export, import and transit of goods by rail between Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, strengthen bilateral cooperation and increase trade between the two countries.

The use of the transit railway and Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi port across the Caspian Sea will facilitate access to the railways of other countries, and will also allow breaking the communication impasse and thus achieving one of the strategic goals of Tajikistan.
