Republic of Belarus Celebrates Independence Day

Today, the Republic of Belarus celebrates the Independence Day.

The 3rd of July is a significant date for the entire Belarusian people. The decision to celebrate the Independence Day on this date, the day of liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders, was adopted at the Republic Referendum in 1996.

The holiday symbolizes courage and bravery, peace and stability, as well as the continuity of generations. On this day, people traditionally pay tribute to the heroism and valor of front-line soldiers and home front workers, partisans and underground fighters, all those who brought freedom to the Belarusian people.

The main event is a solemn military parade. Cultural and entertainment events will take place throughout the country, and a fireworks display will be held in Minsk in the evening.

In 2025, Belarusians will have three days off from 3 to 6 July to celebrate the holiday.
