Republic of Tajikistan Celebrates Independence Day

On 9 September, Tajikistan celebrates one of the main holidays of the country – the State Independence Day.

On 9 September 1991, at the meeting of the Supreme Assembly of the Republic of Tajikistan the Statement on State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Decree on Proclamation of State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan” were adopted.

This year the main national holiday of Tajikistan falls on Saturday, in this regard the residents will have 3 days off – 9, 10 and 11 September.

On the occasion of the Independence Day the day before, a military parade was held in Dushanbe, where the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon spoke.
