Republic of Uzbekistan Establishes People’s Friendship Day

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law adopted by the Legislative Chamber and approved by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the establishment of the People’s Friendship Day in the country. The relevant document was published today by the newspaper “Narodnoye Slovo”, which is the print mediaof the parliament and the government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The proposal to establish the People’s Friendship Day was voiced in the Address by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Parliament of the Republic on 29 December 2020. The holiday is celebrated on July 30 – the date of the International Day of Friendship – established in accordance with the resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
