Russian MPs Proposed to Introduce into New Code of Administrative Offences Provisions on Animal Cruelty

Members of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation introduced a number of amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences currently drafted by the special commission established at the Government of the country.

Chair of the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Protection Vladimir Burmatov told about five proposals of the MPs. Parliamentarians proposed the administrative liability for abandoning pets, breaking the rules of keeping animals in animal shelters, use of animals in artistic and cultural shows and animal cruelty.
