Russian Parliament Ratified Friendship Treaties with Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics

On 22 February 2022, the Federation Council and the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation unanimously ratified the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People’s Republic.
On 21 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on Russia’s recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
