Speaker of Lower Chamber of Kazakhstan’s Parliament Informed President About MPs’ Work

On 31 August 2020, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Speaker of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nigmatulin. The Speaker of the lower chamber of the parliament told about the results of the work of the members of the Majilis during the previous session, about the MPs’ visits to the regions, as well as about the main areas of activity at the upcoming parliamentary session.

According to Nurlan Nigmatulin, the MPs visited pharmacies and hospitals, monitored the price and availability of medicines. They also actively participated in the work of volunteer centers.

Currently, the legislative portfolio of the chamber includes 75 draft laws, 22 of which were initiated by the MPs.

According to the press service, the Head of State stressed that further legislative support for the implementation of the President’s Address and other initiatives should be high on the agenda of the MPs.
