Speakers of Armenian and Russian Parliaments Met in Moscow

On 10 October, during the official visit to the Russian Federation, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Alen Simonyan met with Speakers of both chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation – Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko and Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.
During the meeting with Alen Simonyan, Valentina Matvienko noted the dynamic and meaningful political dialogue between Moscow and Yerevan, especially at the highest level, and expressed her satisfaction with the Russian-Armenian parliamentary cooperation.
Alen Simonyan noted the readiness of the parliamentarians of the two countries for an open and direct conversation.
During the meeting with Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, the parties discussed the issues of strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue between the State Duma and the National Assembly. Viacheslav Volodin supported the idea of the Speaker of the Armenian Parliament to discuss regional security issues within the parliamentary format with the participation of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
