Valentina Matvienko: Russian Senators Will Continue to Strengthen Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation in Spring Session

On 26 January 2022, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation gathered for the first meeting of the spring session of 2022. Chairperson of the IPA CIS Council, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko outlined plans for the work of senators for the coming period. 

Speaker of the Federation Council noted such events as the 7^th Inter-Parliamentary Forum Tajikistan and Russia, the 9^thForum of Russian and Belarusian Regions, the solemn meeting of the IPA CIS Council dedicated to the 30^th anniversary of the Assembly. Valentina Matvienko stressed that international activities would also be carried out in cooperation with the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
