Tanzila Narbaeva Held a Meeting of National Commission on Countering Human Trafficking and Forced Labor

On 24 March 2021, the meeting of the National Commission on Countering Human Trafficking and Forced Labor took place in the Republic of Uzbekistan. The meeting brought together the members of the National Commission and territorial commissions, heads of the relevant ministries and agencies, as well as the media representatives. The meeting was chaired by Speaker of the Senate of the Oily Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the National Commission Tanzila Narbaeva.

According to the press-service of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, members of the commission got acquainted with the outcomes of the monitoring of the use of child and forced labor in cotton harvest, according to which the systematic use of child and forced labor in cotton growing was completely eliminated. The senators and MPs also exercised parliamentary control over the problem with the participation of journalists and bloggers.
